FTP Logs

A record of all the transactions carried out by your FTP Users is maintained on the server in the form of logs. Your FTP logs are present in the Logs folder in your FTP root.

The logs contain detailed information such as logins, logouts, uploads downloads and other interactions of FTP Users within the web space. The log files are maintained in gzipped format. You can download your files using FTP and decompress them using a zip utility such as WinZip before viewing them.

For the process mentioned below to manage the rotation of the log files:

  1. Login to the Web Hosting Management interface. Click here to read how >>
     
  2. Go to Manage Website -> Log Files Manager.
     
  3. In the Ftp Log Manager section, specify have the following and click Submit:
     
    • Generate Logs - Logs will be generated only if this option is selected.
       
    • Log Rotation - Logs will be rotated only if this option is selected.
       
    • No. of Backlogs - If rotation is enabled, log files will be rotated these many times before they are deleted.
       
    • Rotation Cycle - Log files will be rotated according to the cycle you specify. Choose either Daily, Weekly or Monthly rotation.
       
    • Max Log File Size - Log files will be rotated only when they cross the size you specify here.
